Yvonne L. Schultz, 95, Bismarck and former longtime Minot resident died on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck.

Yvonne was born on May 29, 1919 in Minot to Claude and Elvena (Picard) Romine. She was reared in Minot, attended Roosevelt Elementary School, graduated from Minot High School in 1937 and from Minot State University in 1941. As a young adult she taught school in Wildrose, ND for a short time.

Yvonne married Kenneth Schultz on December 28, 1946 at First Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she was employed as a bookkeeper at the American Legion Club and as a secretary for the Great Northern Railway. Kenneth was co-owner, with Mike Dolan, of Aero Block and Cement and owned Thorsrud Supply for a time. Kenneth died on September 17, 1982. Yvonne had continued to reside at their home on Lincoln Drive until she moved to the Brentmoor Assisted Living Center in Minot in 2007 prior to moving to Bismarck in 2013.

Yvonne was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church - Minot where she was active in many women's groups. She was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star - Venus Chapter #14 (Worthy Matron- 1959), P.E.O. Chapter AL (President- 1972), Young Women's Christian Association (Board of Directors - 6 years), Minot Woman's Club (President), Minot Country Club and the Delta Master Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi organization.

Yvonne is survived by several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Jean, Walter and Elsie.

Celebration of the Life of Yvonne Schultz: Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church Foundation.
