Obituary

Wylma Pauline Sund Allen, 72, Minot went to the Lord on June 28th, 2011 after an extensive battle with COPD at her home in Edgewood Vista.

She was born April 24th, 1939 in Esplee, MN to Axel Sund and Ida Levang. She attended a country school for 3 years then Grygla Elementary and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1957, all in Minnesota. In the 3 immediate years she gave birth to Andy, Brad and Ida Fimrite with Tim Knutson, the apple of her eye, being born 9 years later. Wylma married Earl Allen on March 10th, 1992. Wylma and Earl resided in Minot where she was involved in many clubs and activities including Republican Women, Healthy Lifestyles, and Christian Women. Earl called her "a social butterfly".

Wylma sold Home Interiors and gifts for 16 years, during which time she came to know many people beyond just the scale of business. She had the ability to make everyone she met feel loved and important. She became very well known throughout central North Dakota as the "Home Interiors Lady," going as far as Mandan for a Home Interior show. Many friendships were formed throughout her life and she relished every one of them. She never lost touch with even her earliest friends, like Janice, who was her childhood friend to this very day. Earl noted, "She had a natural magnetic personality and became a true friend to each and every person she met."

Family was always an important part of Wylma's life. She spent lots of time with her children, grandchildren, and within her last year, her first great grandchild. She also brought those around her into her "family" and always made sure they knew she was there for them. Friends and family were one of the most important things in Wylma's life, but the most important was her relationship with Jesus.

For the last moments in her life at Edgewood Vista, Wylma made more friends in all of her nurses and care givers. She took all their cares and concerns on for herself and tried to help in whatever way she could. Her good friend Illene moved in to live with her during the last month to help take care of her. They shared many great times together and she is greatly appreciated by the family for the love she has shown to their mother.

Wylma is survived by her husband of 19 years, Earl Allen Minot; children, Andrew (Darla) Fimrite Burlington, Bradley (Shelley) Fimrite Billings, MT, Ida (Robert) Landers Everett, WA, Timothy (Kim) Knutson Minot; grandchildren, Carrie Landers Everett, WA, Aftin (Josh) Boling - Minot, Brenna (Eric) Ohman Bismarck, Christopher (Carrie) Fimrite Billings, MT, Kelly Fimrite Billings, MT, Allison and Tobi Knutson Minot; great granddaughter, Adelyn Kate Boling Minot; sister, Eileen (Walter) Hillman Warren, MN; step daughters, Donna Barto NC, (step grandson) Jeremy Almquist UT, and Dee Ann Allen both from NC.

She is preceded in death by her parents Axel Sund and Ida Levang, her twin brothers Rick & Ron Sund and sister Edith Heden.
