William Schriock Jr., 86, Minot and longtime owner/operator of Gravel Products and Concrete Mobile, died peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2021 in his home with his family at his side.
William Gene "Billy" Schriock Jr was born on January 27, 1935 in Carson, ND to William Sr. and Lorentine (Theuer) Schriock. He was raised on a farm near Carson and in Portland OR where he attended school. Billy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on March 14, 1952 and served with the 3114 th Supply Squadron in England prior to his honorable discharge on March 21, 1956. Following his discharge he returned to North Dakota where he was employed by Schriock Construction.
Billy was once married to Pearl Schriock. They made their home in Minot, ND and were the parents of Hallie, Todd, and Joel. Billy founded Gravel Products Inc. in 1970 and with a group of investors, Concrete Mobile in 1975. He later became sole owner of Concrete Mobile. Billy married Bonnie Jacobson-Rydberg on Dec. 3rd 1982. They made their home on the east edge of Minot and enjoyed spending the winter months in Fountain Hills, AZ. The businesses are currently owned and operated by his children.
Billy was a member of Our Redeemer's Church, Association of General Contractors, ND Ready-Mix Association, Dakota Cruisers Car Club and Minot Builders Association. He was also inducted into the Nodak Speedway Hall of Fame after being recognized for his racing in the 1950's and his continued contributions to the club and track. His hobbies and special interests included: restoring street rods, racing of all kinds including stock cars and snowmobiles, attending car shows and auctions, and walks with his beloved bulldogs.
Billy is survived by his wife: Bonnie; children: Hallie Lock (Brian Gilstad), Todd (Lisa) Schriock and Joel (Teri) Schriock all of Minot and Mark (Reyna) Ziegler of Hazen; stepchildren: Jerald Rydberg of Palm Springs CA and Teri Bedford of Minot; brothers: Max (Bonnie) Schriock and Percy Schriock all of Minot, sister: Francine Schriock of Edmunds WA, grandchildren: Lindsey Lock, Chase Lock, Carissa Schriock, Casey Schriock, Jaxon Schriock, Olivia Schriock, Melissa Rydberg, Josh Ziegler, Rose Ziegler, Mariah Ziegler, Rylley Ziegler, Sean Ziegler; and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Jerome and infant brother: Todd Brice.
Public Celebration of the Life of William Schriock Jr.: Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in Our Redeemer's Church – Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.
Public Visitation: Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot. Those friends with classic cars are invited to drive them to the visitation.
Memorials are preferred to the Our Redeemer's Christian School or the Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
