William Griffin Jones, Jr., 74, Glenburn, died Monday, February 12, 2018 in a Minot Hospital.

William was born October 2, 1943 at Kingston, Tennessee, the son of William and Vera Jones. He moved with his family to the Charleston, South Carolina area, where he was raised and educated. He entered into active duty service with the U.S. Air Force in 1964 and honorably served his country as a member of a flight line crew and later as a flight scheduler.

While stationed at Okinawa, Japan, he was united in marriage to Kazue Tamashiro in 1969. They were moved to Minot Air Force Base in 1973, and have lived at Glenburn since 1983. He retired in 1984 as a Tech Sergeant after 20 years of service to his country.

William enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, as well as antiques.

He is survived by: his wife, Kazue Jones; children, Ken Jones, Buffalo, MN and Maria Loerzel, Willmar, MN; five grandchildren; brothers, James Jones, OH and Harry Nicholson, SC; sisters, Sanda T. Williamson & Brenda D. Polk; aunt, Helen O'Neil, uncle Lionel (Sybil aka babydoll) Fayard and numerous nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his, mother, Vera M. (Fayard) Nicholson and (husband) Theron D. Nicholson; dad, William G. Jones Sr.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Philomena Catholic Church, Glenburn.
Interment : Fairview Cemetery, Glenburn, ND later in the Spring of 2018.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the Church.
