Obituary

Willard Aldean Westman, 72, rural Sawyer and formerly of Benedict died on Monday, November 19, 2012 in a Minot hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Willard was born on April 25, 1940 in Benedict to William and Alice (Gullickson) Westman. He was reared on the family farm and attended school in Benedict. As a young adult he assisted on the family farm and was employed by Boeing as a truck-driver during the construction of the missile sites.

Willard married Beverly Krueger on May 20, 1966 in Sawyer. They made their home near Sawyer and Willard was employed by Beeline Service as a hydraulic jack repairman. He became a certified welder and was employed by Falkirk Power Plant, Gravel Products, Morris Rod Weeder Company and the Minot Public Schools. He retired in 1990 and spent his retirement years traveling throughout the region to auction sales and antique shops. He was very proud of his three vintage Indian Motor Cycles. He was an avid clock and watch collector and as a self taught repairman was proud to call himself a horologist. Also, Willard had the mechanical ability to fix anything and when he fixed it, it worked perfectly.

Willard was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict and the Moose Lodge in Minot.
