Willa J. Myers, 67, Sheridan, WY, formerly of Minot, ND, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, in a Sheridan, WY hospital.

Willa was born February 12, 1941, to Wilfred F. and Fay E. (Smith) Ehr in Minot. She was raised on the family farm, east of Minot, where she actively taught riding lessons to many children around the area, attended Minot Trail Riders, High School Rodeos, and various rodeos throughout the state. Willa attended Nedrose School and graduated from Minot High School in 1959. Upon graduation she attended Minot State University, where she received a degree in elementary and deaf education. Willa taught at the North Dakota School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, North Dakota for two years. In 1965 she moved to Gooding, Idaho to teach at the Idaho School for the Deaf.

Willa was united in marriage to Richard Myers in 1971 and had twin daughters: "Dilly" and "Dally" on June 19, 1975. In 1983 Willa and her daughters moved to Minot, where she ultimately traveled the horse show and rodeo circuits with her daughters and continued her education. In 1989 she moved to Wyoming, where she taught in Lusk for seven years, Casper for two years, as well as Bighorn and Sheridan until the present. She put everything she had into her students, anything she could do to help them better understand.

Willa had a passion for horses and she continued that through her daughters and her grandchildren.

Surviving family includes: Daughters: Dilly (Jacy) Marchant, Newcastle, WY and Dally Myers, Minot; Sister: Donna (Bob) Irwin, Minot; Brother: Sonny (Mardean) Ehr, Abilene, TX; Grandchildren: Ashten and Teigen Marchant, Newcastle, WY; Nieces and Nephews: Arnie "Poncho" (Patty) Irwin, Buffalo, WY, Wanda (Rory) Brown, Edgemont, SD, Robert "John" (Suzie) Irwin, Alexander, ND, Ashlee (Jeff) Miller, Coleman, TX, Melissa "Lizzy" (Guy) Allen, Abilene, TX.

Willa was preceded in death by her parents: Wilfred and Fay Ehr.

Funeral Service: Monday, June 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Minot;
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park;
Visitation: Sunday, June 8, 2008 from noon until 5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home.
