Wendi Dion, 66, Minot, passed away on June 2, 2026, with her husband Dennis Dion by her side, in a Phoenix, AZ hospital. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, humor, and love touched everyone who knew her.

Wendi Sue was born September 1, 1959, to Wayne G. and Arlene (Lee) Nelson in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School.

Wendi found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending sunny days sitting outside, playing bingo at Aces with her husband and friends, and enjoying meals at Sammy’s Pizza. Her daughters and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with them. She had a warm spirit and a smile that could brighten any room. More than anything, she cherished her family and the memories they created together. We will forever carry her memory in our hearts. Her love, kindness, and unwavering support will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Wendi leaves behind her loving husband, Dennis, daughters Chutney (Chad) Barnes, Caydra Askvig and McKaya (Derek) Hartl, grandchildren Everleigh, Kinsleigh, Harleigh, Kiarra, Chase and Braya, sisters Deanna Nelson and Tana Anderson, and longtime friend Merry Theilen along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wendi was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lonnie.

Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of Wendi’s life will be held at a later date.
