Warren Randall Brey , 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, passed peacefully in his home, Saturday, June 24, 2023, surrounded in the love of his family.

Warren was born in Minot, ND on September 20, 1933 to Raymond B. Brey and D. Esther (Lunden) Brey. He was raised in the Surrey, ND area, where he attended school and graduated from Surrey High School in 1952.

After graduation, Warren went to work for Winston-Newel, and later he worked for the Ward County Engineer's Office as a surveyor. He was drafted into the U.S. Army December of 1956 and served for 2 years in the Missile Battalion Division. During this time, he was united in marriage to Joyce (Strain) where they spent part of his army engagement time in Kitzingen, Germany visiting other countries spending time visiting relatives and friends.

When he returned to the U. S. his daughter Trudee was born and he returned to work at the Ward County Engineer's Office. He later went to work at the Minot Post Office as a carrier. He worked there for 31 years, retiring in 1990. During this period, he also ran cars from Minneapolis to Minot for Westlie Motors and was self-employed in a shingle and fence business.

Warren was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church and spent many hours as a volunteer. He held many offices in the local Post Office Union and was on the Board of Directors for the Post Office Gas Club. He also served on the Board of Directors for GEM Federal Credit Union and on the City Plumbing Board. He was a member of the first Minot Hockey Booster Club.

Warren was a selfless man, who made family a priority. Even though he was not a swimmer, he bought a boat and spent countless hours driving so his family could ski and engage in other water sports. Each summer he would take his family on a trip, he always felt being introduced to new places was one of the best forms of education. His faith was important to him and he rarely missed a Sunday service whether in person or online. He encouraged and ensured each of his children would attend Sunday School and confirmation. He enjoyed reading, traveling and attending ball games. He was fortunate to spend over 30 years wintering in the south, with most of his time spent in Laughlin, NV.

His grandchildren were the "apple of his eye", always making a point to be at all their different events, including baseball, soccer, cross country, gymnastics, choir, band, orchestra, church programs, confirmation and graduation.

He is survived by: Joyce, his wife of 66 years, daughter Trudee (Jon) Johnson, Texas; sons – Raymond (Mary Ann), Nevada; and Stacy (Tonya), Minot. Grandchildren: Lauren (Richard) Sparacin, Washington; Philip (Andrea) Johnson, Massachusetts; Morgan (Sandro) Lione, California; Ashley Brey, Wisconsin; Sydnee Brey, Oregon; Casey, Trystan and Caden, Minot. Great Grandchildren: Camilla Lione and Lincoln Johnson, his brother John, Minot. sisters-in-law, Shirley Frey, Georgia, Ardie Strain, Wisconsin and several beloved nieces and nephews. Cousin, Sybil (Larry) Wickstrom, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Esther Brey and in-laws, Floyd and Laura Strain, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floy and Roger Huzienga; Devane Langseth; Marlowe Strain; Karen and Ron Laign; Robert Frey.
