Wanda Sue Whitney Holmes, 72, Sawyer, died Sunday, April 6, 2025 in her home.

Wanda Sue was born April 16, 1952, in Baton Rouge, LA to Albert and Eloise (Harrison) Whitney. She was raised and educated in Baton Rouge, LA graduating from High School in 1970.

Wanda earned her Commercial Driving License (CDL) and spent her career trucking for Wiley Sanders Truckline.  She retired in 2005 after many miles driven over the years.

Wanda was united in marriage to Larry Eugene Holmes on March 6, 1999.  They made their home in Wiggins, MS and were blessed to watch their family grow. They moved to Mott, ND in 2022. Larry passed away on January 4, 2024. She moved to Sawyer soon after to spend her remaining days with her family.

Wanda proclaimed herself a 'rebel' who loved to ride horses and possibly loved dogs more than humans.  She will be remembered for strong willed personality and her ability to complete anything she put her mind and heart to, blazing her own trail along the way!

Wanda is survived by her children Toni (Tony) Shear, Sawyer, ND and Thomas (Amy) Harvey, Minot, ND and Tim Harvey, Covington, LA; grandchildren Joel Jenkins, Sarah Jenkins, Joshua Jenkins, Dalton Harvey, Dakota Harvey, Ryan Harvey, Leanne Harvey, Tim Harvey Jr. and Raven Shear.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A private family service will be held.
