Violet Klipfel, 79, Minot and formerly of Ellendale, ND died on Thursday, May 21, 2009 in a Minot hospital.

Violet was born March 19, 1930 in Ashley, ND to Henry and Rachel (Breitling) Rott. She was reared there and in Kulm, where she graduated from Kulm High School in 1949.

Violet married Leonard Klipfel on September 30, 1951 in Marion, ND. They made their home on a farm near Ellendale where they farmed for a number of years and Violet worked as a hairdresser for a local beauty shop. They moved to Minot in 1991 to be nearer their daughter and her family.

Violet was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale. She especially enjoyed playing bingo and bowling.

Violet's loving family includes her husband of 58 years, Leonard; daughters: Julie (Jeff) Gross of Minot and Debbie Klipfel of Sandy, Utah.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Albert Rott and an infant brother.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment will follow in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Monday from noon-5:00p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
