Uel Stevenson , 82, Minot, died peacefully with his family present on November 30, 2013 after a long illness in a Minot nursing home.

He was born in Eckman N.D. to Cecelia and James (Reuben) Stevenson. He spent his childhood in Bottineau County. Uel married Erdyne Trent, of Bottineau, in 1949. Together, Uel and Erdyne raised four children in North Dakota, including over 30 years in the Minot area.

Uel started a career in the grain business when he was 19 in Bottineau. Over the years, his work included managing grain elevators and working as a grain buyer and trader for leading companies in agricultural products industry. He made friends across N.D. and other trading centers.

Survivors: wife, Erdyne R. Stevenson of Minot; sons, Don and David and daughter, Caryn Adaryn all of Washington State; sister, Jane Moum of Bottineau; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Uel was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Penny Stevenson.

Memorial Service: A celebration of life and remembrance will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at 11AM in Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Sawyer Community Cemetery, Sawyer, ND
