Obituary

Twyla Ruth Bohrer, 86, Minot and formerly of the Fessenden area, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in a Minot Hospital.

Twyla was born on August 15, 1925 near Bremen North Dakota, to Hans and Ruth (Shaver) Bollingberg. She was reared and educated in the Fessenden area and graduated from Fessenden High School in 1944. She attended technical school in Wahpeton and the Interstate Business College in Fargo.

Twyla and Walter Bohrer were married on July 30, 1950 in Fessenden. They made their home in Minot where Twyla was employed as a secretary for the Equitable Life Insurance Company and was co-owner of Bell Tower Antiques in Burlington. Walter was a partner in Brunner, Hoeffel and Bohrer P.C. a local architectural firm. Walter passed away on October 10, 1974. Twyla continued to work and made her home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Minot until recently when she moved to Somerset Court, a local assisted living facility.

Twyla was a long time and committed parishioner of First Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a volunteer on various church related committees, programs and activities. She was the past president of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of PEO Chapter AG and was the secretary of the North Dakota Insurance Underwriters Association. Twyla had a passion for Haute Culture, folk art, baking and watching sports.

Twyla's loving family includes her two children: daughter Shayn (Salvatore) Cutino of Oakley, California; son Aaron Bohrer (Janine Lehmann) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; grandchildren: Rachel, Christopher and Salvatore Cutino; Kathy Palmer and Uriah Bohrer; great grandchildren: Vincenzo, Cienna, Emily, and Bobby; sisters Berdeal Bergo of Bismarck, North Dakota, Jane Temanson of San Diego, California, and Coreen Sylva of Indian Wells, California as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Twyla was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her two brothers, Thor and Noble Bollingberg.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church in Minot.

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot.

Memorials are preferred to PEO Chapter AG, Trinity Hospice or First Lutheran Church.
