Obituary

TSgt. Douglas Logan Hull , USAF, age 37, Minot, ND, formerly of Clearwater, FL, succumbed to unforeseen health complications on January 9, 2019 in Minot, ND while surrounded by his wife, parents, and in-laws.

Doug was born June 10, 1981 in Clearwater, FL to Douglas and Teresa (Turney) Hull.

Doug took fashion cues from no one. When he wasn't dressed in uniform, you would catch him in the summertime wearing a classic cutoff t-shirt and cargo shorts. Chances are also good that you would find him wearing the same flavor of cutoff tee paired with a nice pair of jeans in the winter.

Doug loved to hunt and fish even though there is very little evidence suggesting that he actually caught anything, but the determination was always there. Since childhood, Doug was an avid connoisseur of all things comic-related; he also loved Star Wars more than any grown man should. He loved the Miami Dolphins and Florida Gators, and his faith in them never wavered even though their records showed it should have.

Since joining the Air Force at age 18, Doug was a devoted serviceman, brother and friend to so many. With a happy-go-lucky personality and a contagious smile that could light up even the darkest of rooms, he exuberated professionalism, kindness and an unmistakable allegiance to his second family and to this country. Saying that he loved his job and the people he worked with is an understatement; they truly were his family. His time in the service allowed him to obtain an extensive vocabulary consisting of more curse words than most people learn in ten lifetimes.

Trying to put who Doug was into words simply isn't doable, but if anything comes close to defining him, it's his family. He loved his wife, Kristi, more than most people are capable of loving someone in a lifetime. They were each other's constant source of laughter and support. Each other's forever best friend. Doug's heart boasted more pride, adoration and love for his two sons, Noah and Owen, than one can comprehend. These two boys were his most sincere form of joy. In true Air Force fashion, Doug will continue wearing wings while watching over his beloved family.

Doug is survived by his wife, Kristi Hull, and his two sons Noah and Owen; father Douglas Hull; mother, Teresa [Mark] Slonim; sister Brittany Slonim [Courtney Herold]; brother Zachary Slonim; mother and father in-law Kevin and Diane Keeney; brother-in-law Jack [Sarah, Cooper, Claire] Keeney; sister-in-law Sarah [Alyssa, Bradyn] Reid; brother-in-law Luke Keeney; and many other family and friends who were lucky enough to know Doug.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take a moment to hug your loved ones. Time waits for no one.
