Todd Michael Burckhard, 35, Minot died on Saturday, August 20, 2011 near Wolf Point, Montana from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Todd was born on March 28, 1976 in Minot to David and Peggy (Rue) Burckhard. He was reared and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School with the Class of 1994. He attended Minot State University for a short time. As a young adult he was employed by Wholesale Supply as a route driver for seven years.

Todd married Corrie Gilliland on March 1, 2001 in Minot. They made their home in Minot where he was employed by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a conductor and engineer for the past seven years.

Todd was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church - Minot, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen and Minot Hockey Boosters. He especially enjoyed hunting in his younger years and spending time helping with his children's activities especially as a hockey coach.

Todd was a loving husband and father who enjoyed every moment with his loving wife and boys. One of his greatest accomplishments was teaching Marty the game of hockey and his love for the UND Sioux hockey team. "Go Sioux". Mattson was Daddy's helper, always at his side. Todd taught Mattson to love the outdoors and they especially enjoyed their time fishing. One thing Todd will always be remembered for is his love of music and hanging out with his many friends, oftentimes at the Barley Pop. Todd celebrated life by always taking tropical vacations with his wife. He was a hardworker and a true friend to many and will be missed dearly.

Todd's loving family includes his wife of 10 years Corrie; children: Marty and Mattson both at home; parents: David and Peggy Burckhard of Minot; maternal grandparents: Rueben and Dorothy Rue of Minot, sisters: Rachael (Khris) Walz of Fargo, Angela (Eric) Shaw of Minot, Natalie (Mike) Haisley of Hillsboro and Emily Burckhard of Minneapolis; brothers: Joel Burckhard of Fargo, Paul Burckhard and Patrick Burckhard both of Minot; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Pat and Ted Gilliland of Pierson, Manitoba; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Tammy (Jeff) Cole of Moosomin, Saskatchewan and Julie (Ron) Devins of Melville, Saskatchewan and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Todd was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Mary and Mike Burckhard.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday from noon until 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot and from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church.
