Timothy Schmidt, 49, Grafton, died Thursday, November 23, 2017 in the Grafton Developmental Center.

Tim Schmidt was born on February 3, 1968 at Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls, Montana. Tim was enrolled at the age of two in a Montessori School at Great Falls. From age three until five, he attended the Easter Seals Preschool Program and the Easter Seal Preschool House in the afternoon.

Tim was admitted to the Grafton Life Skills and Transition Center March 5, 1974. While at the LSTC, Tim resided at the Health Services Center 3rd Floor. He attended the Day Services Program at Dakota East on the LSTC campus.

Tim enjoyed listening to music and assisted with many volunteer projects through his day program. Tim volunteered with the kids' daycare on campus, sold poppies for the American Legion Auxiliary and assisted with many special projects throughout the years for the Lisbon VA Home. He joined the Spirits United Aktion Club on February 9, 2012 and continued to be active by attending weekly meetings at both the Spirits Club and Kiwanis Christmas Party. He often won the "4 Wheels Award." He supported his club by asking for hats and mittens during one of his year meetings. The project was in conjunction with the Grafton Kiwanis Club that provides hats and mittens for the children at Grafton area schools.

Tim will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends and caregivers at the LSTC.

Funeral Service: Thursday, November 30, 2017at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service in the funeral home.
Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Glenburn.
