Obituary

Tom Jundt, 80, Minot, and former co-owner/ operator of Minot Plumbing and Heating died on Friday, August 7, 2020 in his home.

Thomas Edward Jundt was born on September 12, 1939 in Rugby, ND to William and Christina (Wolf) Jundt. He was raised and educated in Minot and was a graduate of St. Leo's High School in 1957. He attended Minot Business College.

Tom was once married to Cheryl Kirby. This union was blessed with three children: James, Troy and Leslie.

Tom spent his entire career in the plumbing and heating industry with Minot Plumbing. He started as a youngster in 1950 learning the trade from the ground up from Roger Cady.  Roger, Tom and Jim Bergo were partners for several years prior to Tom and Jim purchasing the business. After 52 years of service to Minot and the surrounding area he retired in 2002 and sold the business to his son Jim and Dean Eman.

Tom was united in marriage to Marlene (Dockter) Ness on January 28, 1989 in Minot. They would enjoy 31 years of love and companionship. They have wintered in Arizona since 1990.

Tom was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, Eagles Aerie and Moose Lodge, all of Minot. He was a Minot State University Beaver Booster and was inducted into the Minot Bowling Hall of Fame in 1981 and the ND Bowling Hall of Fame in 2006. Tom was a member of the National and ND Plumbing and Heating Boards of Directors and was a member of the Westbrook, AZ Country Club Golf Association.

In his spare time Tom enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing, bowling and reading. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Marlene, Minot; children James 'Jim' (Ellie) Jundt, Peoria, AZ, Troy (Heidi) Jundt, Rochester Hills, MI and Leslie Yockey, Melbourne, FL; grandchildren Brandon Yockey, Heather Yockey, Sydney Jundt and Seth Jundt; great-grandchildren Miley and Haylee Yockey; stepchildren Susan (Matt Watne) Ness, Minot and Bryan (Stephanie) Ness, Minnetonka, MN; stepgrandchild: Camden Ness; sister Catherine Selfors, Minot and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Ann Gravendyk and Irene Daeley and brothers Tony, Joe, Adam and Phillip Jundt.

Mass of Christian Burial : Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church or to an organization of the donor's choice.
