Theresa Ann Greeman, 78, Minot, formerly of Deering, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in a Minot nursing home.
Theresa was born on St. Ann's Day, July 31, 1938 in Belcourt, ND to Ambrose and Victoria (Houle) Longie. She was reared and educated in Aberdeen, SD at American Indian Missions, until the family moved to Minot in 1950, where she attended Sunnyside and Longfellow Elementary Schools. As a young girl, she helped care for her younger siblings.
Theresa met Jacob Greeman through a family friend and they were united in marriage on July 2, 1957 in Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot. They made their home on a farm near Deering, where they owned and operated the Deering Hardware Store until moving to Minot. Jacob died September 16, 2013.
Theresa became a resident of Trinity Nursing Home in 2011.
Theresa enjoyed knitting and sewing and even made her children's clothes when they were young. She enjoyed baking and loved to shop, especially for family gifts. Theresa was a loving and dedicated mother, always making sure her children made to all their sports and activities. She also had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Theresa was known to hoard the leftover stuffing from Thanksgiving, especially from her son-in-law David.
Theresa is survived by her children: Tina (David) Lemer, Minot, Stephen (Teresa) Greeman, Deering, Todd Lafountain, Kevin Strouse, and Karol Strouse; grandchildren: Tisha (Ryan) Kamrowski, Shane Rodriquez, Kay, Jacob and William Greeman and Alpheia Vopat; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings: LaVern Longie, Minot and Joyce Horgeshimer-Stuber, Minot along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Raymond Longie and sister, Delores Hegle.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm, ND in the Spring of 2017.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service on Tuesday in the church.
