Obituary

Terry Stevick, 77, lifelong Minot resident, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in a Minot hospital.

Terry was born December 24, 1941 in Minot, ND to Wayne and Doris (Larson) Stevick. He attended Minot Public Schools and graduated in 1961. Terry attended Minot State University and earned his Bachelor of Science in Education Degree in 1965.

Terry started his teaching career at Nedrose Public School, rural Minot. It was at Nedrose that he met a fellow grade school teacher, Karn Klug in December 1965. They were united in marriage a little more than a month later in Wheaton, MN on January 23, 1966 in a ceremony performed by his bride's father, Pastor Leonard Klug.

They would call Minot home for the rest of their lives. Terry took a teaching position Dakota Elementary School on the Minot AFB. He taught third and fifth grade during his tenure until retiring in 1996 after 30 years in education.

Terry was considered by many as a jack of all trades. In addition to teaching school, he owned and operated a number of small businesses during his lifetime. Mr. Doughnut, Waterbed City, Mom's Cookie Jar and Broadway Used Furniture were just a few that kept him and his family busy. Terry always had a project that needed attention.

Terry was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, where he also served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 40 years. Lake Metigoshe was a place of refuge for his family, where they spent valuable time as a family enjoying the water and sunshine. He enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Canada with family and friends over the years. Terry was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and true friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to share in his life.

Terry is survived by his two children, Sarah (Sean) Stevick-Lennon, Gurnee, IL and Erick (Jaye) Stevick, Pelham, AL; grandchildren, Brook and Hannah Lennon and Craig, Logan, Mya and Tyler Stevick; brothers Arlo (Joan) Stevick, Minot, ND and Jack (Joann) Stevick, Mesquite, NV; sisters Sheryl Fenner, Minot and Monica D'Alessio, Bayonne, NJ; brother-in-law, Cordell (Carolyn) Klug, Burnsville, MN; sister-in-law, Margaret Klug, Minot and numerous nieces and nephews.
