Obituary

Teresa Marie Klatt , 63, Mohall, ND died Thursday, April 18, 2019 in a Minot hospital.

Teresa was born October 30, 1955 in Traverse City, Michigan the daughter of Donald and Clara (Wadkins) Brooks.  Following the passing of her mother at age two, Teresa grew up under the guidance of her beloved grandparents, Harold and Eva Brooks. She loved her time with them as they lived on the lake in Michigan. Teresa would spend her late teen years in Texas, here she met Jimmy.

Earl James Baker Sr. and Teresa were married in Clayton, New Mexico on January 19, 1973.  This union was blessed with 4 children Tracie Ladonna, Stacey Marie, Melvin Keith, and Earl (James) Jr. They made their home in Dumas, Texas and later Fargo, Oklahoma. Teresa later relocated to North Dakota where she would remain and raise her family.

Teresa was mother and grandmother. She blessed her family and friends with the important things in life. A birthday card, a quick phone call, a smile and a good laugh. She was bold, sassy and for such a small human had quite a personality.  Teresa may have been a little direct at times, but at least, you knew where you stood.  She was crafty and loved to work with her hands. Often, she was repainting a bedroom, making a quilt for the grand kids, or taking a stab at entrepreneurship. Sewing Cowboy Christmas tree skirts and stockings that she would sell to at local craft shows and mercantile stores.  She even made her daughters high school prom dresses. She was very talented and if you were within earshot during her projects, if something wasn't going smoothly, she may have expanded your vocabulary.  She possessed quite the sense of humor and loved sitting around talking and sharing funny stories.

Teresa married Robert Klatt, on July 3, 1998 in Bottineau.  They spent nearly 21 years together in Mohall, here they enjoyed a private life with close friends and family. During these years Robert and Teresa would find a love of horses. Vanzy, Lobo, and Jingo were Teresa's pride and joy. In Recent years Robert and Teresa would enjoy road trips into Minnesota shopping for antiques, travels to Mackinac Island in Michigan, and Las Vegas with good friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to be part of her life.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Robert Klatt, Mohall; children Tracie (Gabe) Thompson, Antler, ND, Melvin Baker, Gage, OK, Stacey (Trent) Johnson, Mohall, ND and James (Jess) Baker, Minot, ND; nine grandchildren, Wyatt (Alison) Thompson, Colten (Taylor Best) Haider, Talon (Alexis Heinle), and Jaime Thompson, Deacon and Drayson Johnson and Calvin, Griffin and Halle Baker; siblings, Donald Brooks Jr., Johnie Boughner, Sylvia Morsel, Roger Brooks, Brian Brooks, Melonie (Fred) Arbogast; sister-in-law Rosemary Klatt; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
