Tamera "Tammy" Peterson, 54, Minot, formerly of Grand Forks, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in a Minot Hospital.
Tammy was born December 1, 1961 in Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Joyce (Wiltse) Peterson. She moved with her family to Seattle, WA, Glasgow, MT and Larimore, ND, where she attended and graduated from Larimore High School. She furthered her education at the University of ND and later at the Hair Designers Academy, both of Grand Forks. She was employed with Perkins Restaurants in Grand Forks, Billings and Minot from 1983-2003 and later with Conte Luna, now known as Philadelphia Macaroni Company, in Grand Forks and Minot from 1996-2016. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002, and she returned to Minot in 2010 to be closer to her family.
Tammy had a love for anyone she came to know and those individuals became "family" to her. She was an avid fan of the UND Fighting Sioux and especially enjoyed following the hockey team. She will be remembered most by her family for her loving and giving heart, and always looked forward to her regular visits to Leilani's Salon & Spa.
Her loving family includes , mother, Joyce Peterson, Minot; brothers, Frank (Linda) Peterson, Las Vegas, NV, Glenn (Kim) Peterson, San Diego, CA, Scott (Sherri) Peterson, Deering, ND, sister, Shannon (Jeff) Beck, Sawyer, ND; nieces and nephews, Samantha Peterson, Jared (Nevada) Peterson, Madison Burtch, Jonathan, Madison & Joseph Peterson, Kala & Kobie Yarbrough; great nieces and great nephews, Jaslyn Mitzel, Ryan Heintz, Mckynlee Peterson, and her loving cat Miss Kitty "Bug".
Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Clarence, grandparents, Delbert & Dorothy Wiltse, Ingvald Peterson & Katherine Peterson Robinson; and her niece, Angela Peterson.
Celebration of Life service
: Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Our Redeemer's Church, Minot. A luncheon and fellowship will follow the service in the Church sponsored by her co-workers and friends at Philadelphia Macaroni Company.
Interment
: Norwich Lutheran Church Cemetery, Rural Norwich.
Visitation
: Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Norwich Lutheran Church Cemetery or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
