Obituary

Thomas Richard Frick, 88, Minot and formerly of Flaxton and Newburg died on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in a Minot hospital.

Richard was born on May 13, 1923 in Portal to Albert and Mae (Dolan) Frick. He was reared and educated in rural schools in Burke County. Following the death of his father in 1940 he assisted his mother and siblings with the operation of the family farm and eventually assumed control of the farm.

Richard married Betty Peterson on October 15, 1945 in Flaxton. They made their home in Flaxton where he owned and operated Frick's Meat Processing for many years. Richard and Betty moved to Newburg in 1979 where he was employed by an area farmer. They moved to Minot in 1997 where they had since made their home.

Richard was a former member of the United Lutheran Church in Flaxton and served the community of Flaxton as a volunteer fireman and member of the North Star Township Board. He especially enjoyed his dog, Frosty.

Richard's loving family includes his wife of 66 years Betty; children: Judy Frick of Jacksonville Beach FL, Jeannie (Calvin) Kalmbach of Flaxton and Dick (Joyce) Frick of Hastings MN; daughter-in-law: Sandra Frick of Gorham, ME; seven grandchildren: Jeff (Agnieszka) Frick, Traci (Michael) Leslie, Todd (Melady) Frick, Casey (Kristin) Frick, Renee (Michael) Delaney, Dennis Frick and Shawn Kalmbach; six great grandchildren: Bryce, Tyson, Montana, Jack, Marek and Leo; sister: Agnes Peterson of Minot; sisters-in-law: Agnes Frick of Watford City and Beverly Schnieder of Eagle Bend OR and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, son: Thomas Frick in 2000, infant sister Beth, sister: Clarann Peterson and brothers: Roy and Edward Frick.

A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Flaxton Memorial Hall, Flaxton, ND.

Interment: Bowbells Community Cemetery.
