Sylvia J. Ulberg, 66, of Berthold, received God's Glorious call to heaven on Thursday, August 28, 2008. She was in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Sylvia was born on June 30, 1942 in Minot, ND to Elias and Jennie (Molsness) Peterson. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1960. After graduation she worked for Pixie Pin Ups, and traveled around the country taking baby pictures.

Sylvia married Gordon Ulberg on February 17, 1970 in Ely, Nevada. Following their honeymoon, they moved to their farm north of Berthold where they raised their 4 girls. Sylvia was very active with the operation of the farm. The family moved to Berthold in 1981 and they retired from farming in 1996.

Sylvia was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold where she taught Sunday school for several years. Many special memories were made camping, fishing, traveling, singing, playing the piano, entertaining at her home, and spending time with her 10 grandchildren. Sylvia also loved spending time on the computer and chatting with her friends on the Ag Forum. She also enjoyed her many trips with her 4 close high school girlfriends.

Sylvia's loving family includes her husband Gordon of 38 years, and her children: Shannon (Dale) Jorgenson, West Fargo, Sonja (Scott) Shaw, Springfield, MO, Sarah (Mark) Metzger, Springfield, MO, Stephanie (Michael) Roark, Berthold; grandchildren: Zack and Alex Jorgenson, Payton, Paige, and Carson Shaw, Alyssa and Chase Metzger, Emily, Lyvia, and Mason Roark; Sisters; Lillian (Harlan) Olson and Mildred Sorg both of Minot; Special Aunt: Eleanor Berg, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Gladys and August Peterson.

Funeral: Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, ND.

Final Resting Place: Wildrose Cemetery - Berthold, ND

Visitation: Monday, September 1, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
