Steven Theodore Gulbranson , 55, rural Minot died on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in a Minot hospital with his loving family at his side and following a courageous battle with Non-Small Cell Adenocarcinoma Cancer.

Steven was born on May 12, 1960 in Milwaukee, WI to William and Karen (Hanson) Gulbranson. He was reared there and in Missoula, MT and Minot by his mother and stepfather Alfred Burns.

Steven married Derinda Bender on September 11, 1981 at Hope Lutheran Church in Surrey. They have since made their home in Minot except for three years when they resided in Cold Spring, MN. As a young adult, he was employed by the Minot Park District. Highlights of his time at the Minot Zoo were witnessing the birth of the first musk oxen born in captivity, a special relationship he shared with Judy the tiger and being a welder for a large amount of the fencing at the zoo. He also spent many years with Minot Builders and GK Trucking as an over-the-road truck driver. Most recently he was with Creative Property Management as a general maintenance person.

Steven was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the H.O.G. and took great pride in his 2015 Harley motorcycle. He was an active volunteer when it came time for charity rides and special events and could never say no to someone in need of a Mr. Fix-it or Mr. Mechanic. Also, he enjoyed video games especially "D.C. Universe".

Steven's loving family includes his wife of almost 34 years Derinda; daughters: Miranda (Alex) Schwan and Nicole (Jimmy) LaVallie all of Minot; grandson: Warren LaVallie; mother: Karen Burns of Minot; siblings: David, Andy and Delilah all of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, daughter: Heather and infant twin boys.

Celebration of the Life of Steven Gulbranson: Tuesday, AUGUST 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Hope Lutheran Church Surrey.
Interment will be in the Viking Cemetery Maddock.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however, friends may sign a memorial register on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred.
