Steven Duke , 65, Minot died peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in his home following a lengthy healthcare struggle.
Steven Allison Duke was born on April 26, 1960 in Oceanside, California to Charles and Janet (Michalenko) Duke. He was raised and educated in various places throughout the U.S.A. due to his father's military service with the U.S. Navy. Later, he earned his G.E.D.
Steve was "'Born to be Wild" and mostly lived his life as a reflection of this theme. He loved his family and was gifted with a keen intellect and a strong work ethic. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and roll music and was a talented doodle artist. Later in life his physical activities became more limited, but he was comforted by his cats, Stix and Jazzy. Steve was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene-Minot.
Steve was once married to Shelley Seney. They made their home in Austin, TX and Dallas TX. He moved to Minot in 2006 to be closer to family and was employed at All Seasons Heating and Air and Connole and Somerville Plumbing and Heating before transitioning to work as a custodial engineer at the Sleep-Inn Hotel and at Minot Air Force Base.
Steve is survived by his son: Shawn (Amanda) Duke of Minot; grandchildren: Nathaniel and Cassidy Duke; siblings: Scott (Darcy) Duke of Rapid City, SD; LaDonna Mosser of Tigard, OR; Stuart (Trish) Duke of Conroe TX and LeAnna (Craig) Heupel of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter: Hailey and brother-in-law: Blaine Mosser.
