Obituary

Steven Von Coyle, 57, Minot died on Thursday, June 11, 2015 in a Rochester, Minnesota hospital from a rare blood disease with his family at his side.

Steve was born on September 30, 1957 in Breckenridge, MN to Marlin and Marlys (Bladow) Coyle. His family lived at several Navy bases including Maine, Florida and Cuba before settling in Wahpeton where he graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1975. Following high school he worked at Robanks until 1982. He attended the North Dakota State College of Science receiving specialized training in Industrial Electronic Technology. Following his schooling he was employed at Control Data in Aberdeen prior to moving to Minot where he was employed at Office Machines and Furniture.

Steve married Cheryl Hankel on October 25, 1986 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo. He has worked as a service technician at SRT Communications for the past eighteen years.

Steve was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where he served as Treasurer, President, Elder and Confirmation Teacher. He especially enjoyed gardening and their garden was one of the gardens featured during last year\'s Secret Garden Tour by the Minot Symphony. Steve was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

Steve was a quiet but true family man who enjoyed making memories with his family on annual vacations, attending his children\'s events and even taking dance lessons so he could dance at his son\'s wedding. He was proud to be a new grandpa.

Steve\'s loving family includes his wife of 28 years Cheryl; children: Alyssa Coyle of Minot and Jonathan (Becky) Coyle of West Fargo; granddaughter: Frances Coyle; siblings: Lori Thomsen of Wahpeton, Jackie Coyle of Detroit Lakes MN, Jeff Coyle of Alexandria MN and Teri Coyle (Brian Skinn) of Billings MT; mother-in law and father-in law: Elaine and Wayne Hankel of Fargo; brother-in law: Brian Hankel (Kim) of Hartford, SD and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

Booksigning: Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

Public Prayer Service: Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Our Savior Lutheran Church - Minot.

Celebration of the Life of Steven Coyle: Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Savior Lutheran Church - Minot.

In lieu of plants and flowers memorials are preferred to the family to assist with recent medical costs.
