Steven Brookshire, 55, Minot died on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in a Minot hospital.
Steven Logan Brookshire was born on February 10, 1965 in Jamestown, ND to Robert and LaDonna (Busch) Brookshire. He was raised in Jamestown where he attended the Anne Carlsen School. He moved to Grafton in 1983 and attended the State Developmental School. He moved to Minot in 1987 and resided there for the next 32 years.
Steven especially enjoyed daily coffee at Starbucks, lunch with his friends and listening to birds singing in the park. He was an avid collector of baseball caps and at last count he had 65 caps. Also, he liked being around horses, swinging in his yard on swings that he had personally purchased, as well as planting flowers and gardening at his home. Highlights of his life were an Amtrak Train Trip and a Riverboat Cruise on the Missouri River. He had an excellent sense of humor, a very unique laugh, was a very private person and was faithful in sending cards and flowers to his parents.
Steven is survived by his father and stepmother: Bob and Bobette Brookshire of Missoula MT; siblings: Kathy (Ken) Christenson of Omaha NE and Bob Brookshire of Hamilton MT; niece: Blaire Brookshire of Couer D'Alene ID; nephews: Mike (April) Christenson of Portland OR and Matt (Sarah) Christenson of Kansas City MO; Best Friend: Daniel Hrichena of Minot as well as his caregivers and friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother: LaDonna (Busch) Brookshire; grandparents: Andy and Jenny Busch of Towner and Dawn and Logan Brookshire of Salida CO and niece: Amy Christenson of Omaha NE.
The family would like to especially thank Daniel Hrichena for his friendship, care and concern for Steven. They shared a special bond. Also, they would like to thank Steven's caregivers and the staff of Catholic Family Charities for their assistance.
Celebration of the Life of Steven Brookshire: Friday, May 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot. Please observe social distancing recommendations. Also, the service will be live streamed starting on the service day and time and can be accessed at

Interment: St. Cecilia Catholic Church Cemetery - Towner, ND.
Visitation: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Catholic Family Charities.
