Stephen S. Owen, 75, Minot, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in a Minot Hospital.

Stephen Samuel Owen III was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on April 19, 1942 to Stephen S. Owen, Jr. and Helen (Sample) Owen. He was raised and educated in various places due to his father being in the military. He graduated from high school in Derby, Colorado. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957 and served until receiving his honorable discharge in 1959.

He met Maurine Walters in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. They were childhood friends who were raised in the midst of the oil boom. They were married on December 4, 1960 in Denver, Colorado. They made their home in Denver, CO and Sapulpa, OK where they raised their five children. Stephen worked primarily as a truck driver from coast the coast. He retired in 1999 and they moved to Minot, ND.

Stephen enjoyed reading, watching tv and spending time with family.

His loving family includes, wife, Maurine; children, Robert, Stephanie, Stephen Owen IV, Charlene and John Thomas; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and sister, Virginia Cook, Phoenix, AZ.

Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas.

At the request of Stephen's family, no public services will be held.
