Staff Sgt. Jesse Lee Amell, 32, passed away unexpectedly Monday January 9, 2012 where he was stationed in Minot, ND.

Born in Glens Falls on November 7, 1979, he was the son of Don J. and Donna M. (Humphries) Amell Jr.

Jesse grew up in Argyle and graduated from Argyle High School in 1998. Right after graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force where he was a fitness specialist. He strived for excellence in everything he did and was most proud of receiving 100% on his many PT Tests.

He enjoyed spending time with family and watching scary movies. He was a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and loved to teach the younger students. With his family he enjoyed hiking, camping, kayaking, and any outdoor fitness. While stationed in England, he enjoyed hiking and mountain biking. Jesse loved nature and was a true outdoorsman.

Jesse was a communicant of St. Michaels Church in South Glens Falls.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Robert Humphries and paternal grandfather Don J. Amell Sr.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Don J. and Donna M. Amell Jr. of Argyle, brother, Jason M. Amell of South Glens Falls, maternal grandmother Mildred Humphries, paternal grandmother Catherine Amell, special cousins, Ryan and Nicole Kobor who were like a brother and sister to Jesse, a special friend Master Sgt. Gina Rich, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Monday January 16, 2012 at the church with Captain Robert Rose, Air Force Chaplin, officiating.
Burial with full Military Honors will follow at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle.
