Sonja Timm, 79, Minot died peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in a Minot hospital.

Sonja Patricia Froseth was born on June 6, 1940 in Powers Lake, ND to Bernt and Edna (Nelson) Froseth. She was raised and educated in Powers Lake and Minot, where the family moved in 1952, and graduated from Minot High School in 1958.

Sonja married E. Michael Timm on June 6, 1959 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. The Timm family owned and operated Timm's Moving and Storage for many years and Mike was a longtime member of the North Dakota House of Representatives.

Mike died on August 17, 2018. Sonja continued to reside in Minot most recently at Somerset Court Assisted Living Facility.

Sonja was a member of First Assembly of God and River of Life Assembly of God - both in Minot where she participated in numerous bible studies. She had served as Past President of the Minot Jaycettes and Secretary of the Northern Area Aglow Board. She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends at the family lake home on Lake Metigoshe and playing bridge with friends and skipbo with her grandchildren. In addition, she was a fashion model at numerous style shows for various Minot clothing establishments especially Walter's Women's Wear.

Sonja's loving family includes her children: Lisa (Waid) Wrege of Boynton Beach FL, Mark (Betsy) Timm of Germantown WI, Tonia (Todd) Manion of Charlotte NC and Tasha Simons of Minot; twelve grandchildren: Michael, Catherine and Nicole Timm; Aiden and Riley Manion; Taylor, Grace, Abby, Patrick, Ryen, Kasey and Shayne Simons; siblings:  Florence Koon and Debra (Tim) Law all of Everett WA and Carter (Billy) Myre of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sonja was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson: Travis Eldridge O'Connor and sister: Gloria Frank.

Public Celebration of the Life of Sonja Timm:  Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in First Assembly of God - Minot. Also, the service will be livestreamed by using https://www.mtmsales.net/thomas

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.

Public Visitation:  Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Metigoshe Ministries, Minot Youth for Christ, First Assembly of God or an organization of the donor's choice.
