Solveig Beatta "Sud" Boen, 75, Albuquerque, New Mexico and formerly of Willow City died on July 2, 2010 in an Albuquerque hospital.
Solveig was born on July 19, 1934 in Willow City, ND to John and Ida (Hamre) Boen. She was raised in Willow City and graduated from Willow City High School in 1952 as the Class Valedictorian. She continued her education at Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Solveig worked professionally in Fargo, ND; Sidney, NE and Albuquerque until her retirement in 2000. She had continued to reside in Albuquerque.
Solveig is survived by her brother: Gordon (Irena) Boen of Longmont, CO and several cousins, nieces and nephews including Ron (Carol) Boen and David (Sue) Boen, both of Minot, Diane Lefley of Denver, Paul (Shirley) Boen of Grand Junction, CO and Kathy, Craig and Lynn Getzlaff of Seattle, WA.
Solveig was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Norrine Boen and sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Raymond Getzlaff.
Graveside Service:
Friday, July 23, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens Minot.
Visitation:
Thursday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to MSU Nursing Scholarship Fund.
