Obituary

Sibyl Geiser, 91, 908 37th Street S.E. Minot, and formerly of the Elbowoods, Mandaree and Parshall are a , died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her home.

Sibyl was born June 2, 1916 at Cooperstown, North Dakota the daughter of John and Julia (Olson) Lind. She was raised on the family farm near Raub and educated at country schools in that area.

Sibyl was united in marriage to Martin Geiser in 1938 at Elbowoods. They made their home at Elbowoods until 1954, when they moved to Mandaree, where Martin was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He retired in 1974.

Along with raising their six children, Sibyl also operated a Day Care in their home. After retiring, they made their home at Sidney, Montana until 1982, when they returned to Parshall. They moved to Minot in 1995 due to Martin's ill health. He died October 16, 1995.

Sibyl was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Mandaree, St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Parshall and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

She was active in the Altar society at St. Bridget's and loved to bake and read.

Her loving family includes : Daughters: Shirley Hovda, Minot, and Mary Lou Bercier, Minot; Sons: Gale (Mary) Geiser, Sidney, MT, Eugene (Elaine) Geiser, Williston, ND, and Larry (Elouise) Geiser, Glasgow, MT; Daughter-in-Law: Sharon Geiser, Emmet, ID;Grandchildren: Richard (Linda), Ron (Connie), Renee (Robin), Jodell, Danae, Buffy, Steven (Jodi), Robyn (Byron), Kristina (Ron), Kelly (Scott), Larry (Laura); Step-grandchildren: Ted, Sandra, Diane, Paula, Susan, Carl, and Paul; Great-Grandchildren: Dillon, DiAndre, Alieciana, Jordan, Matthew, Sydney, Peyton, Jennifer, Justin, Jason, Roxie, Shannon, Ciara, Cile, Kade, Keelen , Jennifer, Matthew, Mollena, Darcie, Jacob, Harley, Zachary, Luke, Madison, Jack, Myalya ; Sister: Dolores Overlie, Parshall, ND; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sibyl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Martin, son, Jim and brothers, Roy, Norris, Orvin, Earl and Arthur, Step grandson Les.

Vigil Prayer Service : Friday, August 3, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Mass of Christian Burial
: Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment:
Parshall Community Cemetery.
Visitation: Friday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice.
