Shirley Wilson, 82, rural Minot died peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in her home with her loving family at her side.
Shirley Louise was born on July 22, 1938 in Williston, ND to Vernon and Gladys (Scott) Sherman. She was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School. She served in the U.S. Navy for a short time prior to receiving a medical discharge. Following her discharge, she resided in California where she was employed as a massage therapist and horse and dog trainer.
Shirley married William Wilson on October 10, 2004 in Spokane WA. They made their home in Sequim, WA where she enjoyed her retirement years. William died on December 13, 2017 and Shirley moved to Fargo shortly thereafter before moving to Minot in 2019.
Shirley was a member of Lighthouse for the Blind and especially enjoyed photography, hiking and yoga. But most of all she was known for her magic massage hands and feisty spirit.
Shirley's loving family includes her children: Katrina Smart (Richard) Poline of Minot, Denise Smart Wilson of Minot, Jennine (Ben) Seitz of Fargo and Yvonne Marie Lynch of Little Rock, AR; fifteen grandchildren; siblings: Sharon, Bucky, Bobby, Michael, Helen and Elizabeth and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Bryon Holt and siblings: Jim Sherman and Leonard Goltz.
Celebration of the Life of Shirley Wilson: September 26, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the River of Life Assembly of God.
