Sheree Kay Mertz , 67, Minot, died Saturday, May 13, 2023 in a Bismarck Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Sheree was born April 3, 1956 at Minot, North Dakota the daughter of Ernest and Shirley (Wherley) Hoelscher. She was raised and educated at Foxholm and Carpio before graduating from Carpio High School in 1976.
Sheree was married to Frank Joseph Bauer for twenty years before divorcing in 1998. From this union 3 children were born. Sheree was employed at various places in Minot before becoming employed as a CNA at Trinity Hospital from 1996 until retiring in 2022.
Sheree was united in marriage to Ray Mertz on May 15, 2002 in Minot. They made their home in Minot. Ray died November 4, 2020.
Sheree was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot. She was a former member of the Seventh Cavalry. She did volunteer work at Trinity Nursing Home and had accumulated over 500 hours.
Her loving family includes , children, Ernest (Kathy) Bauer, Minot, Darrell Bauer, Bismarck, Jodi (James) Walker, Minot; step-children, Shelly McDonald, Minot, Travis Mertz, Omaha, Neb, ; 3 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; father, Ernest Hoelscher, Foxholm, ND; brothers, Wayne (Candis) Hoelscher, Surrey, Kenny (Karla) Hoelscher, Oakes, ND, Bruce Hoelscher, Foxholm, ND; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, mother, Shirley, an infant brother, step-son, Wesley and nephew, Garrett Hoelscher.
Funeral service:
May 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot.
