Sharon Kay Strilcov , 81, Bismarck and formerly of Max and Minot, ND died Monday, March 27, 2023 in a Bismarck nursing home.

Sharon Kay Schoenwald was born in Minot, ND on May 11, 1941 -- daughter of Martin and Verna (Anderson) Schoenwald. She was reared and educated in a rural setting, Iota Flat.  She then attended and graduated from Max High School in 1959.

Sharon was united in marriage to Walter Strilcov on August 2, 1959 at Hope Lutheran Church in Sawyer, ND. They made their home on the Strilcov farmstead north of Max, ND where the couple raised their five children (Wade, Scott, Vonda, Shawn, Katrina) while ranching and farming.  Sharon cared for the children while working alongside Walter with all the daily chores that come with a farm & ranch.

Sharon was employed at Trinity Homes for 17+ years as a ward secretary & CNA.  Walter and Sharon sold the farm and moved to Minot in 1993.  While caring for Walter, at the age of 50, Sharon decided to pursue & achieve her LPN degree from NDSCS via satellite classes.  She continued her employment with Trinity as a nurse until she retired in 2000.  Sharon's passion for caring then lead her to do In-Home care within the Minot area.  Sharon moved to Bismarck in 2013.

Sharon had a strong Christian faith which began with her confirmation at Hope Lutheran Church, Sawyer ND.  Once married, she became a very active member of the Max Baptist Church.  Eventually, Immanuel Baptist (Minot) became her church family.  Sharon was always involved and loved to help out where she could.   Throughout her life, she was involved in Rocky Aces 4-H club; Sunny Slope Homemakers; Max school board; Max Music Boosters; Women's Mission Circle; Max Alumni Association as president.  Sharon taught Sunday school; member of the ND Farm Bureau & Board of Directors & served as State Women's Chairman; Rushville Sunny Slope Homemakers; Ward County Water Resources Board; Bismarck Parkinson's Support Group.

Throughout her entire life, even during her battle with leukemia (2009) and later Parkinson's Disease, Sharon had a passion to live life to the fullest – never wasting a moment.  She loved to cook, bake, sew, garden, canning, research, color & create, coupon and shop.  Sharon found such gratification in helping & caring for people – even in her final years at the nursing home.  She always made sure people felt welcome by taking time to visit, listening to their stories, sharing her goodies, organizing games, helping in any way she could.  She was so well known and loved!  Far above anything in this world, Sharon adored her family and cherished any moments she was able to share with them – especially her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her children:  Wade (Shannon) Strilcov-Minot, (Charity) Strilcov-Minot, Vonda (Ken) Walter-Bismarck, Shawn (Misty) Strilcov-Mandan, Katrina (Tom) Hetletvedt-Jamestown   Fifteen grandchildren – Wyatt & Dalton Strilcov, LaShae Berg, Teagan Strilcov, Keaton Meissel, Brooke, Katie, Jared Walter, Jaycee (Spencer) Gillund, Jillian & Journey Strilcov, Cambry Fyllesvold, Kathryn, Thomas & Leah Hetletvedt. Siblings; Jan (Don) Meronuck-Fargo, Yvonne (Lee) Sorenson-Montevideo, MN.
