Sharon J. Osborne, 65, Minot, was called to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, in a Minot hospital.
Sharon Sass was born to Emil and Hilda (DeWalt) Sass on May 16, 1943, in West Branch, MI. She was raised and educated in Tawas, MI, graduating from Tawas Area High School in 1961.
Sharon received her nursing certification from Kellogg College through its affiliation with the St. Joseph's Hospital in Tawas, MI in 1967. In addition, she attended Wayne State University - Detroit MI, Kellogg and Goshen University - Goshen IN prior to graduating from State University of New York in Albany, NY, with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
Sharon was united in marriage to Kenneth Osborne on March 29, 1969, in Oscoda, MI. Following the military lifestyle, they made their home in Tacoma, WA for four years before moving to Minot Air Force Base in 1976. They remained in Minot following Kenneth's retirement in 1981.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Minot, where she served as a board member and secretary for a number of years. In addition, she was chairman of the music committee and orchestra director and played her accordion and trumpet for a multitude of church functions.
Her hobbies included needlework, knitting, counted cross-stitching, gardening, and reading. She was an accomplished musician playing accordion, piano, organ, and trumpet.
Surviving family includes: Loving husband of 39 years, Kenneth, Minot; Sons, Kenneth (Maria) Osborne, Stuttgart, Germany and Jonathan (Anisa) Osborne, Minot, ND; Grandchildren: Justice, Winter, and Thorne Osborne; Mother: Hilda Sass, Minot;
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, and grandparents.
Funeral:
Monday, August 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in First Church of the Nazarene, Minot;
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND;
Visitation:
Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
