Sharon K. Merritt, 74, Minot and formerly of New Town, ND died Friday, November 30, 2018 in a Velva care center.

Sharon was born December 26, 1943 in Cooperstown, ND to Rueben and Freda (Grande) Midboe. She spent her youth in Stanley, ND and graduated from Stanley High School in 1961.

Sharon was once united in marriage to Vic Merritt. They moved to Oklahoma and were blessed to provide for two sons. After her boys were grown, she moved back to North Dakota and settled in New Town.

Sharon worked as a certified nurse's aide at the Good Samaritan Center in New Town for the next twenty-seven years until she retired in 2014. She became a resident of the Souris Valley Care Center in 2015.

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her boys and grandchildren. She loved to play games of chance and was often found keeping her hands busy with knitting projects in her spare time. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Sharon is survived by her children Kendell Merritt, Minot and Darren (Christi) Merritt, Aubrey, Texas; grandchildren Collin, Kenadee and Hannah Merritt and Taylor Piland; sisters, Donna (Dean) Whitmore, Minot and Karen Bennett, Denver, Co. along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Darrel (Butch) Midboe, Doreen Erickson and Carol Joan Burchard.
