Sharon Rae (Kluck) Smith, 60, Minot died on Monday, December 8, 2008 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer.
Sharon was born on March 25, 1948 in Minot, ND to Cyril and Marie (Schmidt) Kluck. She was reared in Minot, attended Minot schools and graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in 1966. She attended Minot State University for one year before marrying Gary Smith on November 25, 1967 in Minot. Following their marriage, they made their home in Tucson, Arizona. They returned to Minot in 1972 where they made Minot their permanent home and raised their five children.
Her great personality allowed her to meet and be loved by many people and helped her succeed as a Consultant of Home Interiors for over twenty-five years. She also served as unit director for that company and operated Kluck's Plants during the summer months. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Gary and Sharon recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. She especially enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her ten grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Surviving family includes her loving husband Gary, Minot; children - Travis (Mary) Smith, Maple Grove, MN; Jason (Elizabeth) Smithmeyer, San Salvador, El Salvador; Chanda (Paul) Klug, Minot, ND; Nathan (Courtney) Smith, Watertown, MN; Heather (Mike) Duerre, Walhalla, ND; sisters - Carol (Gene) Hefter; Charlotte (John) Ross; Donna Lawson; Bev (Dick) Stoffels; Kathy (Rod) Holter; Gerry (Steve) Schaan; brothers - Wayne (Linda) Kluck; Glen (Kathy) Kluck; brother-in-law: Bob Vogel; Grandchildren - Alex, Henry, Bailey, Ashlynn, Zoe, Blaise and Molly Smith; Julia Smithmeyer; Hunter and Lacey Klug.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Myrna Vogel and two infant sons.
Visitation:
Thursday from noon until 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot and 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the church.
Vigil Prayer Service:
Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot.
Mass of Christian Burial
: Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot.
Burial:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
