IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shannon Lea
Knuth
November 9, 1968 – June 26, 2019
Shannon Knuth, 50, Minot died on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in a Bismarck hospital.
Shannon Lea Knuth was born on November 9, 1968 in Fort Myers, FL to Robert A. and Omie Mae (Justice) Roguska. She was raised and educated in Fort Myers and graduated from Bishop Verot High School. A highlight of her early years was working for the Fort Myers Royals baseball team, the Kansas City Royals Class A minor league team. She served as a bat girl and on the grounds crew.
Shannon married Robert B. Knuth on May 30, 1987 in Fort Myers. They met on a blind date while Shannon was in high school. Shannon and Rob made their home at various air force bases throughout the world including Charleston SC, RAF Mildenhall UK, Altus OK, RAF Lakenheath UK and Minot. They moved to Minot in 2000. While she was residing in the United Kingdom, Shannon returned to college and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland.
Shannon was appointed the Family Services Volunteer Coordinator while stationed in Oklahoma and was contracted by the USAF for a similar position at RAF Lakenheath. Helping newly assigned airmen and their families adjust to military life gave Shannon great joy. While living in Minot, Shannon was employed at the Dakota Square Mall, ING, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Holiday Inn. Most recently, she had served as the Volunteer Coordinator for Sanford Hospice and was training as Dedicated Insurance Liaison with Aetna.
Shannon was a devoted mother and wife whose family always came first in her life. She always said watching her children, nieces and nephews grow into loving and caring adults was her greatest achievement. Also, she enjoyed traveling, especially across Europe and to Scotland for vacations as well as volunteering.
Shannon is survived by her husband of 32 years Robert; children: Andrew Knuth (Kelly Spence) and Nicole (Sean) Culpepper; siblings: Timothy (Donna) Roguska, Kenrick (Jill) Roguska, Michelle Gardner, Cousin/Sister: Karen Flint, nieces: Zsachlayne Roguska and Genie (Warren) Scoggin, nephews: Wesely (Chamblin) Baltimore and Jesse Roguska and several aunts and uncles.
