Seth Clayton Hawes, 29, Minot, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Burlington.
Seth was born October 16, 1979 at Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of Karl and Lana (LaDuke) Hawes. He was raised at rural Minot, and educated in the Minot Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Sherri Johnson on October 6, 2008 at Minot. He was currently employed as a cook at the Ruthville Restaurant & Bar.
Seth loved to play darts and participate in softball leagues. He played with two state softball championship teams. He loved the outdoors, fishing, golfing, along with goose and duck hunting. He had a wonderful childhood and made friends easily. He was great at making everyone he knew smile and laugh easily and often.
His loving family includes : wife, Sherri; children, Lacey, Donald and Lucas; father, Karl (Viana) Hawes, Velva; mother, Lana Hawes, Minot; brother, Brad Hawes, Ft. Knox, KY and currently serving in Afghanistan; step-brothers, Michael Spang, Minot, Jason and Cory Spang, both of Bismarck; aunts, Gerri Howerton, Salem, IN, Pat Keperling, Las Vegas, NV, Helen Gabel, Lancaster, CA; uncles, Gene Hawes, Wedowee, AL, Larry LaDuke, Wheatridge, CO, Bill Gabel, Minot, Vince Gabel, Granville; sisters-in-l aw: Terri Erickson, Rolette, Nancy Ortiz, Vallinger, TX, brothers-in-law: Craig Johnson, Rolette and Jeff Johnson, Harvey; mother & father in-law: Terry & Donna Johnson, Rolette, and grandmother, Vi Hosie, Surrey.
Seth was preceded in death by his grandparents Gertrude LaDuke, Elza LaDuke, Eugene Hawes, Loleta Hawes, Albin Johnson, Donald and Mable Martin.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment will take place in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation will take place Wednesday from noon - 5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred.
