Scott Herslip, 56, Minot, died Saturday, April 11, 2020 in a Minot hospital.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private family service will be held. A livestream of the service can be viewed at www.firstlutheran.tv at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. A public celebration of Scott's life will be held at a later date when restrictions are lifted.

Scott Anthony Herslip was born on November 23, 1963, in Bottineau, ND, to Lawrence and Luella (Soland) Herslip.  Scott was raised on the family farm in Souris, ND, were he continued to work as a young man.  Scott attended Minot High School and graduated in 1982.  He continued his education at Dakota College Bottineau and Bismarck State College.

Scott married the love of his life Kari (Beeter) Herslip on October 11, 1986, at First Lutheran Church, Minot.  They made their home in Minot.  Scott owned and operated several businesses throughout the years.  He most recently worked for Colonial Research where he was known as a "Road Warrior" driving thousands of miles selling chemicals and supplies to Western North Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and South Dakota.  Scott's cell phone was his lifeline, conversing with friends and family to pass the time while driving.  Along his journeys he developed many special friendships with his customers.

Scott was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers and NDSU Bison and displayed their colors proudly.  Scott was once the 3 rd District chair of the Democratic Party and also sat on the North Dakota Executive Committee.  Scott loved discussing and debating issues with friends at so called "board meetings" at the Ground Round.

Scott always had a passion for cars and was a licensed dealer in North Dakota.  He bought and sold many cars at Northern Auction. In fact, this is how he met his wife Kari.  He never missed a car auction.  It won't be the same without him.

Scott and Kari loved spending time together at their cabin at Lake Metigoshe.  Scott enjoyed listening to music, and waving to passing boats while pontooning with Kari and his beloved dog Shelby.  Not one to take a leisurely cruise, Scott's need for speed always had his pontoon going fast.  Many "happy hours" were spent with lake friends at the A frame and The Dockside.  On the Fourth of July, Scott and Kari's lake deck provided a "million dollar view" of annual fireworks display for friends and family.  Scott also enjoyed spending time at his shop condo in Minot where he enjoyed hosting holiday and family gatherings.

Scott was one in a million and will be missed!

Scott is survived by his loving family including his wife Kari; mother, Luella Deahl, Hillsboro, ND; brother, Larry (Donna) Herslip, Burlington, ND; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Christianson, West Fargo, ND; Betty (Keith) Meyer, Hillsboro, ND; Peggy Deck, Round Rock, Texas; nieces and nephews; Leslie (Troy) Stevens, Dawndi (William) Kesler, Sarah (Brian) Novlesky; Brandi Koffler; Jay (Kendra) Kurtz, Jody (Carrie Alme) Kurtz, Aaron (Kamille) Meyer; Ryan (Brittany) Deck, Tyler (Michele) Deck; several great nieces, nephews and cousins; father and mother in law, Clinton and Karen Beeter; in-laws, Kristi (Terry) Chole; Kevin (Renae) Beeter; nephews Nicholas, Lucas and Zachary Beeter, all of Minot, ND; godson's, Tanner Johnson and Lucas Beeter: Goddaughter Katie Larson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
