Obituary

S. Louise Stevenson , 88, Maple Grove, MN, and formerly of Westhope and Minot, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, in a Maple Grove Memory Home.

Louise was born January 12, 1918, at Westhope, North Dakota, the daughter of Everett and S. Ruth (Hulse) Brashear. She was raised and educated at Westhope, graduating from high school there in 1936. She then graduated from Trinity School of Nursing in 1939.

Louise was united in marriage to Clarence Edward Stevenson on October 25, 1941, at Sidney, Montana. Following their marriage they made their home in Minot, where she was employed at Trinity Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital as a registered nurse. She also worked in Minot as a private duty nurse. She retired in 1972, when they relocated to Bismarck, until returning to Minot in 1989. Clarence died on July 3, 2000. Louise has been a resident in Nursing Homes in Plymouth, MN since 1999, and most recently at the Wildflower Memory Home in Maple Grove.

She had been a longtime member of First Lutheran Church, Minot and a local homemaker's club. She enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling in later years.

Louise is survived by: Daughters: Andrea (Danny) Messmore, Minot, Barbara (Ron) Hett, McArthur Lake, ND, and Lynda (Terry) Sandvold, Plymouth, MN; Daughter-in-law: Diane Stevenson, Arizona; Grandchildren: Bradley (Crystal) Stevenson, Brent (Tracey) Stevenson, Kari (Gregg) Schaefer, Eric Messmore, Daren Messmore, Ryan Hett, Colin (Kelly) Hett, David, Blake, and Katelyn Sandvold; Great-Grandchildren: Corey, Steven and Morgan Stevenson, Brett, Kayla, and Abbey Schaefer, Jayda Hett and Jessica, Brock and Owen Stevenson.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Clarence, Jr., grandson, Paul, brother, Lloyd, special aunt and uncle, Sylvia and Bill Williams.

Private Family Service : Saturday, July 8, 2006 in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot;
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in Plymouth, MN;
Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot;
Visitation:
Friday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
