Ruth Ivagene Heaton, 76, Minot peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday September 23, 2007 from complications associated with Alzheimers disease.
Ruth was born on November 26, 1930 in Trion, Georgia the tenth child to James and Margaret (Fawcett) Saylors. She was raised and educated in Trion and graduated from Trion High School in 1947. As a young adult she was employed at Regal's Textile in Trion as the billing department manager. Ruth married Luther Heaton of Crossville, Alabama on June 2, 1950 in Trion. They made their home at various military bases around the world. She entered the Civil Service in 1962 and was employed as a resource advisor. The family lived in Minot from 1967 until 1972 and returned to Minot in 1976 where she continued as a Civil Service employee at Minot Air Force Base until she retired in 1990 due to health reasons.
Ruth was a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church - Minot and especially enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling and touring especially in Europe and Japan.
Ruth's loving family includes her husband and caregiver Luther Heaton; daughter: Lisa (Paul) Kocsis of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Jessica and Michael Kocsis of Grand Forks ND and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Louella Clifton, Margie Haygood,
Betty Worthy and Vena Keown and brothers: John, Jim, Mac, Melvin and Earl Saylors
Funeral Services : Wednesday September 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Faith United Methodist Church - Minot and Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. C.S.T. in Burt Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Payne Alabama
Interment
will be in the West Hills Cemetery in Trion, Georgia.
Visitation
: Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to Faith United Methodist Church or its Food Pantry or Soup Kitchen.
