Ruth Karine Deaver , 91, Minot formerly of Berthold died Friday, July 10, 2020 at the home of her son Danny, with her family at her side and under the care of Caring Edge Hospice.
Ruth was born June 29, 1929 in rural Berthold to Olaf and Emma (Johnson) Trondson. She was raised and educated in Shealy Township.
Ruth married the love of her life, Delwin Deaver on September 17, 1946 in Sidney, Montana. Early years of their married life were spent in Berthold and also in Tioga where she worked alongside her parents at the café they operated. In 1957, they bought her parents farm south of Berthold. Ruth was the perfect farming and ranching partner, always ready to lend a hand and provide a meal at a moments notice.
In 1992, after Delwin's retirement, Ruth and Delwin moved to Berthold. 2010 was the first year the Deaver family had the opportunity to travel by motor coach to watch the Minnesota Twins play. This annual event continued through 2015 and was truly a highlight for Ruth and her family. Delwin passed away on March 13, 2012. Ruth moved to Elmcroft Assisted Living in February 2015.
She was a member of the Berthold Baptist Church, Baptist Women's Circle, Modern Homemakers Club, and Ward County Farm Bureau.
She was an avid Twins fan and never missed watching a game. She enjoyed crocheting hangers in her spare time and made sure everyone got one. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and enjoyed the Norsk Hostfest, especially meeting Daniel O'Donnell.
She was a social butterfly and was very kind hearted, taking care of neighbors, friends and family, putting everyone's needs ahead of her own. She always had the coffeepot on with some baked goodies ready for anyone who stopped in to visit. You came as a friend, left as family. She was Grandma Ruthie to not only her own family, but to many, many, people.
Her biggest attribute in her life was her family and she was so proud of each and everyone of them.
Those who were so privileged to have shared in her life: Dennis (Jacki) Deaver, Berthold and their families: Brandi (Brent) Kjorstad, Dale, Jacob, David, Delaini; Derrick (Wanda) Deaver, Cashley, Dawson, Quade; Denver (Janelle) Deaver, Samuel, Audra, Ashtyn, Aleena; LaVonne (Ken) Hornberger, Berthold and their families: Travis (Bonita) Hornberger, Bailey (Wade) Bosely, Hannah, Clancy; Wade (Wendy) Hornberger, Kara, Colby; Jana (Andy) Elberg, Delaney, Emma, Dru, Axel; Breann (Monte) Lund, Molly, Owen, Briggs; Linda (Glenn) Stockdill, Garrison and their families: Ryan (Karen) Stockdill, Percy: Brad (Minda) Stockdill, Bodhi: Carlie (Lance) Voth, Gavin; Danny (Debbie) Deaver, Berthold and their families: Waylon (Patti) Deaver, Gage, Gunnar, Gretchen, Gwendolyn; Brooke (Ryan) Storro, Novak, Jace; Lori (Panch) Harshaw, Berthold; Leanne (Mark) Brossart, Minot and their families: Dustin Martin, Joie, Braxton; Kallie (Ben) Goodman, Reese, Blair, Andi; Travis (Tabitha) Brossart,Triston, Nathaniel, Elyse, Samuel, Mariella, Micah, Jude; Brothers-in-law, Allie Deaver, Berthold; Bob Haider, Burlington.
