Ruth Davidson,98, passed away on June 5, 2021, with her family by her side.

She was born to Christian Jr. and Emelia (Faul) Vix, March 4, 1923, in Sawyer and spoke only German when she began school. She attended a country school in Sawyer, Velva High School, and Tabor College in Kansas. Growing up at the Vix Coal Mine located south of Sawyer, she played the guitar and sang at church with her sisters.

She was united in marriage to Wallace Davidson in Sidney, Montana on July 18, 1942. They resided in Minot and had three sons Donald, Terry, and Dorian, and were owner-operators of Davidson Construction and Excavating, where Ruth worked as the secretary.

An accomplished seamstress, Ruth designed and made several of her own clothes, as well as for her children, grandchildren, and some friends. She also spent countless hours crocheting baby blankets for new moms over the years as gifts.

Her family was of paramount importance to her, and she traveled many miles to comfort them in time of need and to visit. She was involved in and took great joy in participating in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's many sports, musical, and church activities.

Ruth served as a hostess for over 40 years with Minot Christian Women's Club. There she made many long-lasting friendships. She hosted or participated in many Bible Studies, XYZ and Primetimers over the years, and attended Our Redeemers and First Baptist Churches. She took joy in expressing her lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and lived in accordance with Jesus' command to love your neighbor as yourself.

Her loving family includes 2 sons, Donald (Oma) Davidson, Minot and Terry Davidson (Diane Jenson), Minot. 4 grandchildren Jolene (Rob) Stenvold, Minot, Jay (Pam) Davidson, Valdosta, GA, Ryan (Jessica) Davidson, St. Joseph, MN, and Christopher Davidson, Highlands Ranch, CO. 7 great-grandchildren Nicholas Stenvold, Minot, Kristine Stenvold, Minot, Taylor (Lacey) Stenvold, Surrey, Evan Stenvold, Minot, Shalyn Stenvold, Minot, Aleena Davidson, St. Joseph, MN and Kadyn Davidson, St. Joseph, MN. 3 great-great-grandchildren Mylee Stenvold, Paesley Stenvold and Hadlee Goettle.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and daughter-in-law Dorian and Ruth Davidson, 2 brothers Ervin and Herman Vix, 2 sisters Beaeda Berg and Florence Henke, niece Candace Collins.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Public Visitation:  Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
