Russell Weeks, 77, Minot, died Saturday, May 23, 2026 in a Minot hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Russell was born October 29, 1948, in St. Albans City, VT to Glenn and Fostine (Rydea) Weeks. He grew up and received his education in Garrettsville, Ohio, graduating from Windham High School in 1966.
Russell enlisted into the US Air Force on July 11, 1966. He served his country honorably, stateside and abroad, earning a number of decorations during his career and retiring as a SMSgt from Minot Air Force Base on July 31, 1992.
Russell was united in marriage to Suk Cha on May 16, 1975 in Kun San AFB, South Korea. They made their home at various bases until settling in Minot in 1982. This union was blessed with two sons, Michael and Glenn.
He enjoyed the outdoors during his younger years and was often found with a fishing pole in his hand. Russell was a devoted husband and loving father who always put family above all in this life. He will be missed for his steady and loving nature to all who were blessed to share in his life.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Suk Weeks, Minot; sons Michael and Glenn Weeks, both of Minot; sister Judy (Eugene) Owens, Windam, Ohio; brother-in-law Richard Glendenning, OH, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Glendenning and brother Robert Weeks.
Visitation: Monday, June 1, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
