Russell Floyd Perlichek, 79, lifelong Burlington resident died on Saturday, August 30, 2008 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Russell was born on August 11, 1929 in Minot to Louie and Millie (Berget) Perlichek. He was raised in Burlington and attended Burlington schools. As a young adult he was employed as a semi- truck driver. Russell married Janice Stromme on July 1, 1956 in Burlington. They made their home in Burlington where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator by Peter Kiewit Construction at Minot Air Force Base, Bechtold Excavating, and Donn Brown Construction. Russell retired in 1994.
Russell was a member of Peace Lutheran Church - Burlington and the Operating Engineers Union Local #49. He especially enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting, fishing, and reading Louis L'Amour books.
Russell's loving family includes his wife of 52 years Janice; children: Russell Jr (Shelly) Perlichek of Colstrip MT, Kelly Perlichek of Minot, Robbie (Joy) Perlichek of Burlington, Kory (Piper) Perlichek of Mason, TX, and Janelle (Rick) Halvorson of Minot; grandchildren: Patrick, Paxton, Jordan, Chris, Casey, Ashley, Jacob, Kaylen, Brady, Danielle, James, Corinne, Grace, Tori, Jamie, and Mike; great granddaughter: Aliyah; sisters: Rosie Trondson of Donnybrook, Donna (Roland) Watts of Tucson, AZ, Mildred (Rand) Spraggins of Stockton, CA; brother: Gary (Jan) Perlichek of Brentwood, CA; Aunt: Alice Vannett of Minot and Uncle: Percy (Carol) Berget of Bothell, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, son: Rory, brother: Louie, and sister: Tootie.
Funeral Service: Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Peace Lutheran Church - Burlington;
Interment will be in the Burlington Community Cemetery at a later date;
Visitation:
There will be no reviewal but friends may sign a memorial register on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
