Russell B. Cairns, 92, 2905 Elk Drive #101 - Minot and formerly of Berthold, Mesa, Billings and Orr, ND died on Wednesday, November 22, 2006, in a Minot nursing home.

Russell was born on October 14, 1914, in Orr, ND. He was raised on a farm near (Niagara?) and graduated from Larimore High School. As a young adult he moved to Billings, MT and was employed as a salesman for a school supply company for many years. Following his retirement he moved to Mesa, AZ. Russell married Edna Berry Keiser of Berthold on September 18, 1993 at Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold. They made their home in Berthold prior to moving to Minot. They had spent winters in Mesa where Russell especially enjoyed participating on an old pro baseball team of men over 75 years of age. They won several tournaments in their age category. He especially enjoyed watching all sports.

Surviving family includes : Wife: Edna of Minot; Stepchildren: Kaye (Jim) Bergo, and Fred (Etoile) Keiser, both of Minot; six step-grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service: Monday November 27, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church - Berthold;
Interment will be in Elk Valley Church Cemetery - rural Orr, ND;
Visitation: Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Elk Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery or Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold.
