Obituary

Roy Hiller , 91, Minot, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, in a Minot Hospital.

Roy was born September 9, 1915, on the family farm near Barton, North Dakota, the son of Andrew and Clara (Danielson) Hiller. He moved with his family to the Denbigh area and was raised and educated there.

Roy was united in marriage to Ida Hendrickson on September 9, 1938 at Rugby. They lived for a short time in the Ogden, Utah area working for the United States Defense Department. They returned to the Upham area in 1942, where he was employed with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The family moved to Minot in 1947, where he was self-employed as a building contractor working on a number of projects in the area. He semi-retired in 1980, but continued to work on various projects throughout the years. Ida died April 25, 1995.

His hobbies and interests included fishing, hunting and trapping. He was an avid trap-shooter and participated in leagues and tournaments locally and on the national level. He enjoyed music throughout the years and had played the guitar during his younger years.

His loving family includes : Son: Wes Hiller, Minot; Grandchildren: Jeanne Hiller, William (Tracy) Hiller and Marsha (Steve) Nelson; Great-Grandchildren: Joshua, Caleb and Riah Nelson; A number of nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Ida, son: David and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral service : Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in First Assembly of God Church, Minot;
Interment:
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot;
Visitation
: Monday from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
