Obituary

Rosella Tollefson, 92, Minot died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 in a Minot hospital.

"Rosie" Rosella Arlene Berge was born on June 29, 1928 in Souris, ND to Gustav and Anna (Hoibrenden) Berge. She was raised on the family homestead farm and graduated from Souris High School in 1946. She was a graduate of the Trinity Hospital School of Nursing in Minot in 1949.

Rosie married Orlan Tollefson on October 23, 1949 at the Turtle Mountain Lutheran Church near Souris. They made their home in Minot where she became a full-time wife, mother and homemaker.

Rosie was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church taking an active part in the Altar Guild, church circle, quilting, and helping out wherever she could. She was currently a member of PEO Chapter AV. In the early years of the Norsk Hostfest, she was a co-chairman of the Import Shop spending countless hours buying, stocking, displaying and selling. She also volunteered at the Bethany food booth. In years past, she enjoyed golfing and traveling the world with her husband. In recent years, she enjoyed playing bridge with friends, reading, baking bread, buns, and lefse. But always, more than anything, she loved being at home and with her family. She recently commented, "There is no greater accomplishment than raising a family."

Rosie's loving family includes her children: Rosann (Mike) Wold of Longville, MN, and Roger (Michelle) Tollefson of Minot; grandchildren: Christian (Jana) Wold, Charles (Brenda) Wold, Scott (Amanda) Wold, Emily (John) Mackner, Brent (Denise) Tollefson and Hanna (Bradley) Ullrich, and 7 great grandchildren; sisters; Alice Ihla of LaVista, NE, Julie Lee of Rochester, MN, Helen Woods of Portland, OR; in-laws; Duane and Sharlene Tollefson of Minot, Phyllis and Neville Kempkes of Broomfield, CO, Arlene Berge of Bottineau, ND, and Dolores Berge of Mandan, ND. And her many nieces and nephews.
