Rosella Tande, 91, Minot formerly of the McGregor, ND area, died on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in a Minot nursing home

Rosella Mae Thorson was born on May 22, 1928 in Sauk Valley Township of Burke County near McGregor, ND to Martin and Myrtle (Lee) Thorson. She attended the township and McGregor
schools. As a young adult she was employed as a house-mother for area families.

Rosella was united in marriage to Warren Tande on April 30, 1948 in Kenmare, ND. They made their home on a farm west of Battleview where they raised small grains and cattle for almost 40 years. They retired from farming in 1996 and moved to Minot in July of 1997.

Warren passed away on August 25, 2001. Rosella continued to reside in Minot most recently at "The View".

Rosella was a member of Zion Lutheran Church - McGregor and its ladies aid and circle. She had attended Our Redeemers Church for more than twenty years and was an active member of its quilting ministry. She especially enjoyed quilting, reading, word find puzzles and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins.

Rosella's loving family includes her children: Julie (Bruce) Upton of Bonnie Lake, WA and Doug (Kim) Tande of Minot; grandchildren: Shanna (Jason) Baumgarten, Shane Upton, Karin ((Mike) Unhjem, Erik (Vanessa) Tande, Mari (Sheldon) Shearer and Levi Tande; great-grandchildren: Tylr, Zachary and Brandon Baumgarten; Anthony Tande; Mikaela, Ethan, Layla, Morghen and Owen Unhjem; Lena Tande; Tatem, Daxton, Emma and Kershaw Shearer; sisters-in-law: Eloise Thorson and Rosemary Thorson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son: Darrell Wayne Tande, an infant sister: Marlene and siblings: Juline Thorson, Lillian (Erling) Barmoen, Gladys (John) Imsland, Marvin Thorson, and Allen Thorson.

Celebration of the Life of Rosella Tande: Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Redeemers Church – Minot.
The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery - Battle View, ND
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Hospital or National Jewish Health - Denver and Our Redeemer's Quilting Ministry in lieu of plants and flowers.
